Editing Disclaimer

Congratulations! We have just completed your first round of edits! Before you move on to the next room, we want to make sure that you FULLY understand what you’re about to see.

Using the Edited Copy

Anytime we edit a book, we forewarn our authors about what they are about to see, because it can appear overwhelming at first. As you continue your journey as a writer, an edit won’t be so intimidating. With that said, let us point out the following:

You are about to see strike-throughs, notations and the like. This is normal, especially if you are a first time author. Even after you’ve written your tenth book, you will get back a document with strike-throughs, but they won’t be as frequent as you familiarize yourself with the writing process.

Please review the suggested changes, and accept or reject them at will. Remember, this is your book, so you get the final say in what stays and what goes.

To accept or reject a change, simply place your mouse’s cursor over the strike-through or green (maybe yellow) text and right click over the text. A menu will come up, and at the bottom of that menu, you will see the option to accept or reject the change. Make your choice and move on to the next line.

If you come across a line where you see the “|” on the side, that means there is a correction to be accepted on that line.  If you don’t see the corrected item, chances are, it was a paragraph being separated from another paragraph.  Try right clicking at the end of the above paragraph and looking for the “Accept/ Reject” window.  If you don’t see it there, try right clicking at the start of the next paragraph.

Using the Clean Copy

The edited copy is basically the same file, but in this file, the corrections have been all accepted. You can use this file, but we suggest you read through it first to ensure that you like the flow of the book.
